Brendan’s exposure to a fit and healthy lifestyle began at the age of 17 when he joined the Australian Army as a Rifleman. Serving 8 years Brendan learnt various trades such as; Combat Medic, Demolitions, Engineering, and Watercraft. Brendan became involved in the Fitness Industry in 1998, completing his Certificate 3 in Fitness at TAFE.

In 2003 he started training in Kickboxing at Full Circle Mixed Martial Arts and continued his studies completing Certificate 4 in Fitness through the Australian Fitness Network. Once completing his Certificate 4, VO2 Vitality was registered and began operating part time.

In 2005 Brendan began training at Illawarra Kyokushin Karate, under Sensai Jason Baltov from Illawarra Kyoksuhin Karate. Over the next 6 years Brendan competed in over 25 competition fights (Kyokushin is well renound for it’s bare knuckle full contact fighting) winning several State titles and the Australian National titles in 2007.
In 2007 Brendan became a PunchFit Kick Pad Instructor. He was introduced to TRX Suspension Trainer by an old Army friend in 2009 and immediately saw the benefits of this versatile and effective training tool. In late February 2010 Brendan decided to pursue Personal Training full time. He attended a TRX Suspension Trainer Course (2010) and followed up attending the TRX Group Suspension Trainer Course in early 2011.

Over the next 2 years he’s become a qualified  Australian Kettlebells – Level 2 Instructor,  Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association. Brendan then completed his Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Coach with the Australian Weightlifting Federation.

In Late 2011, Brendan was invited by TRX Training to attend the TRX TEAM Instructors course. He is now a qualified TRX Suspension Training Team Coach, teaching other trainers in the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer.
In early 2012 Brendan became a TRX Rip Training Instructor, teaching other trainers in the use the TRX Rip Training.
Most recently Brendan became a Master Trainer for Trigger Point Performance Therapy

Brendan currently trains a local Baseball Team - Northern Pirates who won the 2011 Premiership and were club champions after their 1st year of incorporating him and the TRX Suspension Trainer into their training program. Brendan trains professional and up-and-coming athletes, which include: Moto Cross Riders, Surfers on the World Qualifying series (WQS) and local athletes competing in the Kathmandu Adventure Race Series.

Over the last couple of years Brendan has competed in the Kathmandu Adventure Race series and regularly competes in Aquathons, Mountain bike races and running events such as City to Surf.
